Comments= On the afternoon of February 14, 1966 PCF 4 went along side of a float with a VC flag flying in an attempt to gain a souvenir. This float was 200 yards off the shore. As they reached the flag, a vc on the beach ignited the mine sinking PCF 4 and killing 4 of the crew and badly wounding the other 2. If anyone remembers this incident please contact me by email.

Note from Joe: This boat was reported as the 6 and later corrected to the 4 in Vance's Deck Log. Some of us had been on this boat as relief crew days before this incident.
