Comments= Served aboard Vance for 2 years. I regret remaining silent for so long.
The picture in the December mailing was taken in Green Cove Springs Fla. I served from commissioning in Fla to de-commissioning in San Diego. I wept when I learned that the Vance was used for target practice and sunk. Hardly a week passes that I don't think of the Vance, a shipmate or a memory of a past event. I'd be curious how many members you have listed from the WDE 487.
I am in the picture taken in the December newsletter. I bitterly regret missing the Sept 2002 reunion in Albany so close to my home. I hope to visit the Slater one day. Would you be kind enough to advise me how to subscribe to the DSEA newsletter.
Winter storm has me at home today "organizing". My donation to The Vance Association will be mailed this weekend.
