Reasons for reading about the Vance= To find shipmates
Comments= I was searching for DE393 and came up with this site. My father, Howard, was a radar operater on DE393 (Haverfield) during WWII in both the Atlantic and Pacific. One recent thing about this hunter-killer group with the carrier Bogue is the sinking of Japanese sub I52. This sub was carrying gold and was featured in National Geographic a couple years ago when it was rediscovered.
