Reasons for reading about the Vance= To find shipmates
Comments= Served alongside the Vance during her Seattle days. Great little ships and great shipmates. I was a young Sonarman out of Class A School and green as grass. We pulled most of our pickets off of the Oregon coast but went off of Adak when we had small crisis in Lebanon in fall of 1956. The "Perfect Storm" had nothing on the weather that we had that trip. It was a great experience for young men to serve in our navy and I have never regretted the time and have always appreciated the lessons learned and the great people that I met. This is a great site.
