Reasons for reading about the Vance= Vance/Naval history, Other
Comments= I was a fellow DER sailor on the Falgout from '66 to '68. After my discharge, I got hold of a copy of the book "The Arnheiter Affair". Reading it brought back back memories of being in Manila harbor tied up next to the Markab in the same nest of ships that the Vance was in. I remember hearing the infamous "Reveille" tape being played. I asked a Vance sailor about it and he told me a story about Capt. Arnheiter and all the crazy things he was doing. Reading the book clarified a lot of things for me.
