Reasons for reading about the Vance= Other
Comments= The Haverfield served with the Vance on the DEW Line during my time aboard. In May 1960 our homeport of Pearl Harbor was changed to Guam.
I participated on three DEW Line patrols during this time and I believe one time the Vance gave us some fresh water when we were on patrol because we could not make fresh water because our evaps were broken. Many found memories of the time I spent aboard the Haverfield. Have visited the USS Slater in Albany, NY.
