Diane B. Generous
Diane B. (Kowalchuk) Generous, Carrboro
Diane B. (Kowalchuk) Generous, 69, died in her Carrboro home on Monday, March 12, 2012 after a six-year fight with multiple myeloma. She was the beloved wife of William T. Generous, Jr., known as "Tom," and the devoted and loving mother of Michelle E. Generous of Washington D. C., and Suzanne F. Generous Prentice of Wallingford CT, and she was deeply loved by her son-in-law Michael R. Prentice and her grand-daughter MaryJane F. Prentice, also of Wallingford. Ms. Generous served for a quarter century in the Admissions Office at Choate Rosemary Hall, the boarding school in Wallingford, where hundreds of students grew to love and respect her. After retirement from Choate, she served for a dozen years as the social director and party planner in the Bolin Forest Home Owners' Association in Carrboro, so the neighbors learned to love her, too. No one who knew Diane will forget her ever-present and loving smile. Calling hours will be 6-8pm, at the Walker Funeral Home, 120 West Franklin Street, Chapel Hill. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Newman Catholic Center at 11 am Friday, 218 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill. Parking at both places can be found behind the buildings. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, Campus Box 7295, Chapel Hill NC 27599-7295.
